Stage one

Check eligibility

  • You are a clinic, research group or nonprofit program.
  • You serve families affected by a rare inherited disease, in our focus: MSUD, TNNT1 or GM3.
  • The request is for a program, research groundwork or treatment access.

Requests for other conditions are rarely funded, though the board reads every one. Requests from individuals are directed to a clinic that serves them.

Stage two

What we fund and what to prepare

What we fund

  • Early research groundwork for a gene therapy program: patient data, natural history, preclinical first steps
  • Family days and programs that bring affected families together
  • Help for families who cannot cover the cost of treatment once a therapy exists
