Acceptance of these terms

By using harvestofcompassion.org you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. The Harvest of Compassion Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit registered in Pennsylvania, doing business as Harvest of Compassion.

Use of this website

You may use this site for your own reading, giving, and program inquiries. You may not copy or redistribute the site as a whole, use it for advertising, attempt to access it by automated means beyond ordinary browsing, interfere with how it works, or submit false information through any form.

Donations

A gift is voluntary. Gifts are processed by Stripe, and the Foundation does not store your card or bank account number. The Foundation covers processing fees, so the amount you choose is the amount directed to the work.

Gifts are generally non-refundable once processed. If a gift was made in error, or an amount was charged more than once, write to info@harvestofcompassion.org and we will work out the correction with you and with Stripe.

A monthly gift continues until you cancel it. You can ask us to change or stop a monthly gift at any time by email, and you can also stop a payment through your bank or card issuer subject to their rules.

Gifts are tax deductible for US federal income tax purposes to the extent the law allows. No goods or services are provided in exchange for a contribution.

Funding requests

Submitting a funding request does not create an agreement or an obligation on either side. The board reviews requests and decides what to fund, and it is not required to explain its decision in detail. You confirm that the information you submit is accurate, and you should only send material you are permitted to share.

Requests are treated as confidential within the Foundation and are not published on this website.

Content and intellectual property

The text, layout, photographs and graphics on this site belong to the Foundation or are used with permission. You may quote a short passage with credit. For anything beyond that, including reuse of photographs, ask first at info@harvestofcompassion.org.

Medical information disclaimer

Pages on this site describe conditions such as maple syrup urine disease and the research intended to treat them. That material is written for general information and to explain the Foundation's work. It is not medical advice, and it is not a recommendation about diagnosis, diet, treatment or clinical trial participation. Decisions about a child's care belong with the family and their treating clinicians. Research described here may never lead to an approved treatment, and the Foundation does not develop, test or sell therapies.

Links to outside sites are for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, security, or privacy practices.

Limitation of liability

This site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, the Foundation and its board members are not liable for damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page shows the current version, and continued use of the site after an update means the updated terms apply.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, excluding its conflict of law rules.
